The license plate is 5WVE931 with a city of Dublin dealer license plate frame.

Short Hair and a Stupid Society

After reading this article:

Dating Reality: #1 Surprising Reason Men Don’t Call Women Back

I just had to write this article. I was infuriated with this “bit of advice”:

#2. Look like a woman. At work, conservative and structured clothing allows you to be taken seriously, but it’s not exactly sensual by candlelight. Don’t go straight from work in your power suit to meet him for dinner; rather, change into something soft and flirty. And try growing your hair longer: men told me that shoulder-length hair (or longer) is more feminine. Sure, you’re a strong and capable woman, but think Scarlett O’Hara not Hillary Clinton.

I hate, and I mean HATE, how society accepts men who have long hair, but the minute a woman wants to cut her hair short, now she is viewed as “too manly” and many men are turned off by that. Excuse me, but isn’t that being a bit of a hypocrit? Shouldn’t men with long or shaggy hair be viewed as feminine?

I shouldn’t have to change my hair because some guy can’t get past the length of my hair to find that I am an attractive, successful, intelligent, and compassionate person. Don’t get me wrong, attraction is a huge part of chemistry, but if society didn’t pile women with short hair into the “butch” category, then most men would probably not even have thought of it that way.

It’s ok if a woman works on a car and knows more about it than the guy next door, just as long as her hair is long? GIMME A BREAK.

Let’s face it, I “prefer” men with short hair, but I am not going to totally rule out a guy with longer hair and say it’s because he “looks like a girl”. That’s what I am getting at… if your preference is long hair, great, but don’t automatically look past the best thing that could ever happen to you because you didn’t take enough time to get to know her just because of the length of her hair.

The Hair Cut

April 8th, 2009

Personally, I love having short hair. It is easy to manage, low-maintenance, and the best part… it stays out of my face.

I like to be different and anyone who knows me would put me more with the punk rockers, hip hop, hardcore, skate-type crowd instead of the mainstream, average, etc.

Unfortunately, I don’t like being hit on by girls. Despite the compliments, it’s upsetting when I don’t get the same attention from the men. (unless they already know me… unfortunately people think that girls with short hair = homosexual - and that I am not)

Short or Medium Hair?

  • Medium - Pony Tail - not my favorite but gets better reaction from guys (81.0%, 29 Votes)
  • Short - Faux Hawk/Pixie - my favorite (19.0%, 7 Votes)

Total Voters: 36

I think Game Informer ought to feature these in one of their issues… ^_^

Battlestar Galactica Toaster

Yes, that’s right folks, you too can own your very own Battlestar Galactica Toaster, only $130.00 USD!

Don’t get me wrong, it’s funny with the play-on words… the nickname “toaster” when referring to the Cylons, but… I don’t know. I guess I’m a little mixed as to what to think about this lol. $130? Really? Why… I hope it makes sausage too. (I’d laugh if they were programmable too LOL)

jQuery - Adding a Delay before FadeIn Image

During a recent project at work I came across a dilemma, I needed to delay a fade in effect using jQuery. Well, much to my scouring the internet I found tutorials for delaying inbetween fadein and fadeouts, or other delays for other effects, but none of which that I needed for my project.

After messing around, I finally got it to work! Here is what I used.

I’m posting this because one day when I was updating my company’s timesheet PDF, I remembered how much I hated having to enter the date every, single, day. Ugh.

So here is the simple way to have an auto-inserting (if that is even the proper term) date in a PDF!

A New Look

February 27th, 2009

I am currently redoing my site’s design… although this is something I should do behind the scenes rather than in plan view… I got tired of looking at the other one (which was just a temp anyway).

And if anyone is paying attention, maybe they will learn something along the way through my mistakes :)
